Experience
Mr. Delventhal advises cities, counties and other public entities on a range of labor, employment and government law matters. He regularly represents public entities in arbitration hearings involving appeals of disciplinary action and alleged contract violations and in proceedings before the Public Employment Relations Board. Mr. Delventhal also has successfully defended public entities in litigation involving allegations of discrimination, harassment and retaliation. As part of his practice, Mr. Delventhal has conducted workplace investigations involving allegations such as discrimination, sexual harassment, whistleblower retaliation, workplace violence and theft, and has provided trainings on the subject of workplace investigations. He also has successfully petitioned for workplace violence restraining orders sought by public entity employers on behalf of employees.
Mr. Delventhal joined the firm in September 2008. Prior to pursuing a career in law, he worked as a reporter for four years at two Bay Area newspapers and a wire service.
Related Experience
While in law school, Mr. Delventhal served as a judicial extern for United States District Court Judge Charles R. Breyer, as a law clerk in the San Francisco Public Defender’s Office, and as a summer associate with the firm.
