EXPERIENCE
Chelsea Avent is an Associate with the Firm specializing in the representation of public agencies on labor and employment matters. She has experience in all stages of administrative discipline cases for public employees from the initiation of the investigation through evidentiary appeals. She is also experienced in general labor relations matters, such as unfair labor practice proceedings before the Public Employment Relations Board (PERB), fact-finding hearings before a neutral panel, meet and confer meetings, and grievance meetings.
She joined the Firm after working with another public agency law firm specializing in labor and employment matters. Prior to that, she worked at a firm that specialized in labor and employment law for public safety employees.
RELATED EXPERIENCE
Ms. Avent graduated with Distinction from the University of Nebraska College of Law. During law school, Ms. Avent served as the Reviewing Editor for the Nebraska Law Review, where she also had an article published. Ms. Avent served as a Law Clerk for the United States Attorney’s Office.
